It’s no secret that some of the best hotels in Singapore are also some of the most impressive in the world. The fact that the Little Red Dot is so hot that shimmering outdoor pools are standard (an obvious bonus for rambunctious children) and it’s packed to the rafters with epicureans (an obvious bonus for parents) means Michelin stars meet the most inspired sky-high suites – the luxury hotel scene is en pointe. I know this, as I lived there for over a decade with my family, and I’ve reviewed the best family-friendly hotels in Singapore.
Singapore has always had a voguish approach to luxurious, family-friendly hotels, and some residents are just as partial to a fancy hotel suite as travellers. It’s no wonder that when I lived there, my Singaporean friends took their families on staycations to Sentosa, and even the condos we lived in were snazzy, family-friendly apartments with swimming pools, health suites, tennis courts, and access to coastal parks. Singapore does family-friendly luxury so well, with incredible, memorable activities for children and always taking good care of parents, too, through first-rate service and amenities, pristine spas, and excellent family dining experiences.
In the forward-thinking, super-efficient, park-cloaked city, the sheer number of hotels is dizzying. This includes the standout icons: the glamour of history-rich Raffles Hotel and the mighty landmark Marina Bay Sands (MBS), care of visionary architect Moshe Safdie – whose design inspiration was a deck of cards – and the mastermind behind the extraordinary Jewel Changi Airport. There’s a mass of five-star hotels, and standards are as lofty as the soaring boat-shaped SkyPark. There are over 450 hotel properties and 42 Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore, once more about its HDBs and kampungs than ritzy rooms and sleek hotel executive club lounges.
In food-obsessed Singapore, the hyper-focus on exceptional restaurants, hotel buffets and Michelin accolades keeps expectations high – this is no bad thing. This year alone saw the opening of Raffles Sentosa, Mandai Rainforest Resort, The Sands Collection and Paiza Collection at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) and Resorts World Sentosa's newbie, Laurus Hotel. NoMad Hotel will open in Faber House in 2027.

Raffles Hotel
Best for: an utterly iconic stay and Raffles' signature style
Awarded three Michelin Keys in October, the iconic Raffles Hotel is every bit as exceptional as you’d imagine and Singapore’s most coveted address, with a storied legacy. A Singapore (and global) icon, with its 19th-century colonial glamour, bedding down in one of the Raffles suites is pure heaven with sleek Alexandra Champalimaud-designed interiors – the last hotel makeover cost a cool 150m – and it shows. Raffles’ grand, rich, chocolate-and-cream-toned, Asian antique-filled suites all come with private butlers. There’s a glossy rooftop pool, smart spa, seven restaurants, including the Tiffin Room and the famed Long Bar. Raffles staff treat children like superstars, too: families love the super-smooth service, excellent children’s menus (including unlimited ice cream perks) and the history lesson on Singapore’s founder – 2025 is the 60th anniversary of Singapore's founding, in fact – but the green-flanked rooftop pool is a magnet. Tip: there are some superb local restaurants and hawkers nearby on Seah Street, Purvis Street and the surroundings, including my casual French pick Saveur.

Newly-opened Raffles Sentosa Singapore is the first all-villa resort in the country, and it is as good-looking as they come. The luxurious Michelin Key resort is perched atop a hill, fringed by greenery; fittingly, there’s more than 100,000 square meters of it. The bevvy of 62 beautiful, private pool villas is rimmed by the glistening South China Sea, being mere moments from Tanjong Beach’s sandy sweep. And because it’s Raffles, all of them come with butler service – ensuring that you absolutely won’t want to leave (like, ever), unless touring Singapore in the Raffles Rolls-Royce. Add to this five restaurants and a sheeny spa, and everyone’s happy. Sentosa is geared towards children, and this is the perfect base for little (and bigger) ones: it's literally brimming with kids' activities – if you can tear the family away from your super luxurious residence, that is.

After a $2 billion redesign, the mighty Marina Bay Sands has bumped luxury stays into a new era – and it’s as lavish as you can get. Book an ultra-luxe Sands Family Suite with superlative, kaleidoscope views of colourful Gardens by the Bay, splendid bunk beds and a top-tier private playroom or “studio”, The Play Den, for small children. There are also adventure packs, soft lion toys and free access to ArtScience Museum exhibitions – you must go there. The new Paiza Collection takes it to the next level with its butler service (the largest staff of butlers in a Singapore hotel): the Horizon Suite is as elite and high-spec as they come, it has a hammam shower, an in-room sauna and guests can book bespoke treatments in their private massage quarter. The global buffet restaurant Rise is at its peak here – Singaporeans are competitive gastronomes and hotel buffets in the city-state are the gold standard, but there are 45 restaurants at MBS, so take your pick. The SkyPark is an epic experience for children with the best vantage point in Singapore, in a truly visionary building.

Banyan Tree Mandai Rainforest Resort
Best for: epic treehouses; a nature-led family stay
With 338 rooms, including 24 treehouse-designed suites, Mandai Rainforest Resort is a relative newcomer to Singapore’s family hotel scene, opening earlier in 2025 and it couldn’t be more magical for children. This is a prolific resort set in Mandai Wildlife Reserve, with a focus on a more sustainable design ethos and on escaping into nature: it’s as soothing as it sounds. MRR’s family-friendly accommodations, seed pod-shaped treehouses with wraparound views (and sounds) of the rainforest, are pure magic. For families, being immersed in nature this way is utterly memorable and the clan are well placed to visit Rainforest Wild Asia, one of Singapore’s big 2025 launches. Other perks of a stay here include deals on passes for any of Singapore’s four wildlife parks. And, being a wonderful Banyan Tree, there’s an outstanding spa and dining at Forage or The Planter’s Shed, the mighty family-friendly hotel buffet.

Robert ReckhotelCapella Singapore
$$Best for: a serene Sentosa sleepover; the tiered pool
Another stylish Michelin Key hotel, set in 30 acres of parkland, Capella is a modern-heritage family stay that has a big draw. It was designed by super architects Foster + Partners, and it is close to Palawan Beach, in a quieter part of Sentosa that feels more serene. Though a perfectly peaceful retreat, the hotel has easy access to Resorts World Sentosa with its Universal Studios and central Singapore with its big hitter sights is only a five-minute taxi ride away. Out of the 113 gorgeous accommodation options – sassy rooms, suites, villas – go for a pristine villa for the extra space, garden and private plunge pool, though the hotel’s tiered swimming pool is glorious, ideally for older children. Parents will appreciate the in-room Aesop lotions and potions and the polished Auriga Spa. Come dinnertime, Fiamma, the Italian family-style restaurant, is a winner for all. Even better, children up to 11 years old stay for free.

Best for: the whole family; the buffet; the bubble lift
The Mandarin Oriental has long been a leading Singapore hotel for its subtle, contemporary style – and it was given a Michelin Key in 2025 – it’s not hard to see why. This is where the F1 crowd stays; kids will love zooming up to their floor in the glass bubble lift, ala Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – book a themed family suite. The sleek and chic luxury hotel peering onto Marina Bay has all bases covered: stylish, comfortable rooms and suites, a dreamy spa and one of the most high-end international buffet restaurants in Singapore, Embu, that offers a premier F1 trackside viewpoint, complete with a huge chocolate fountain and Singapore expat establishments Morton’s Steakhouse and MO Bar. It’s over the road from The Esplanade, a theatre which hosts various local and global acts – Roald Dahl’s BFG is running until mid-2026. There’s also Makansutra Gluttons Bay, a fun, open-air food court just opposite the hotel, for a taste of Singapore’s hawker fare. Try the chef masterclasses for children – if any kid wants to be a chef, the Singapore MO is surely the perfect place to train.

Best for: a dreamy private island resort escape
As residents know, Singapore is much more than it first seems: there are multiple lesser-known, paradise islands to see with the city-state's enviable base near Malaysia and Indonesia – when I lived there, our ideas for weekend trips were endless. A round-up of Singapore’s most family-friendly hotels wouldn’t be complete without including Nikoi Island. Though technically in Indonesia, this incredible, sustainably-focused, 15-hectare private island resort is just a ferry journey from Singapore and is like a real-life Jungle Book, plus all the luxuries a family could want. It’s easy to add it on to a trip from Singapore for a night or two, and no flights are needed. The unreal island has 18 handsome beach houses crafted from local driftwood that face cerulean waters and flour-like sands. For children, there is an array of nature-based pursuits at the kids club: Tarzan ropes, treehouses, wildlife spotting, reef snorkelling and pirate treasure hunts – an attractive pool and evening beach cinema for older children. For parents, there are spoiling spa treatments and books by the pool with a nature soundtrack. The resort has two restaurants – both are super – and dining under the stars is possible. The best thing? The adjoining Island Foundation initiative helps to support locals with education and training courses, sporting activities and job opportunities. In this digital age, I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here; it’s phenomenal, a true gift to you and your family – our trip will stay with me forever. Like anything brilliant, word has caught on, though, so book well ahead.

Christopher CypertThe St. Regis Singapore
Best for: its opulent makeover and prime location near Singapore’s Botanic Gardens
On Tanglin Road, close to Singapore’s embassies, the St. Regis is quite discreetly located. Its setting makes it feel a bit more elusive somehow, away from the main throng of shiny department stores and glitzy malls on Orchard, but once inside one of the 299 rooms, no luxury is spared – this is where the city-state’s wealthiest book into. Especially so, after the St. Regis’ recent design refresh by stellar interior design company FBEYE, this is St. Regis 2.0. Extravagance is the keyword, and there’s a butler assigned to every room – yet at a more accessible price point than other five-star hotels. There are five restaurants, including the favourite Cantonese restaurant Yan Ting, Tentsuru, an omakase-style speciality restaurant, Sophia, a new Italian, and the swanky Tea Room. There’s also the upscale St. Regis Spa and modish, New York-influenced St. Regis Bar. For any traveller, this is a decadent stay: the best shops and family attractions in Singapore are on your doorstep, there are sweet treats and St. Regis teddies for wee ones and other thoughtful gifts for teens.

LIM EU-JIN MARCUSParkroyal on Pickering
Best for: a D&T lesson for the teens; a design wonder
A “hotel-in-a-garden” and design wonder, care of world-renowned architects WOHA, PARKROYAL on Pickering was recognised with one Michelin Key this year. This modish hotel makes a statement with four green-flanked floors, a total of 367 rooms, and 15,000 sqm of sky gardens, to be precise. The hotel’s location near Chinatown is notable for getting around with children; the MRT stop is a few steps away and trains are plentiful, cheap and spotless. The award-winning Lime restaurant sets the right tone for families and dishes up impressive Asian and international dishes across three theatrical open kitchens. There’s a spa and gym, and a members' lounge that allows older children to have a splashy orange juice. The outdoor infinity pool surrounded by cabanas is a treat; the high-rise cityscape surrounding it makes it even cooler. The hotel is best suited to older children, after all, the building itself is a marvel and the perfect D&T lesson – expect top marks at school.

E HendricksThe Fullerton Hotel
Best for: timeless style and a slice of Singapore’s history
The Fullerton’s spectacular neoclassical building dates back to 1928, and in a previous life it was the General Post Office (GPO). It’s one of Singapore’s absolute landmark hotels with 400 rooms, and while its newer addition to the Fullerton clan, Fullerton Bay, is more avant-garde, the original’s classical romance is timeless – as they say, the classics are always the best. Service is as best-in-class as you’d expect, too, being in Singapore, where proficiency isn’t just for exams, it’s the norm. Everything about The Fullerton is top-tier: the sweeping Italian marble floors at the entrance, the lavish chandeliers, the grand ceilings. What’s in it for children? There’s the palatial outdoor pool with epic views of Singapore: lucky kids. There are five restaurants, including Town Restaurant with a bonny outdoor terrace overlooking the river – it’s the spot for brunch with the family, while planning a trip to Fullerton’s neighbour, the Asian Civilisations Museum. The hotel’s location is perfect for hitting up Singapore’s incredible museums and many of them are free, and after all that trekking in the Singapore heat, the hotel’s daily ice-cream passes for kids come in handy. Rooms-wise, go all-out and book the Fullerton Suite.

Four Seasons Hotel Singapore
Best for: its location and Four Seasons' signature style
Though situated near Orchard Road, the 225-room Four Seasons has more of a luxury resort allure. Proud owner of a Michelin Key in 2025, the hotel’s famed Cantonese restaurant Jiang-Nan Chun and Nobu get plenty of attention too. Expect Four Seasons' signature luxury and unparalleled service – the rooms and suites are the epitome of sophistication. For children, there is a vast outdoor pool, superb children’s menus and cosy bedroom slippers. There’s a kids' club, though there are ample activities to keep children entertained. Singapore’s Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is close by for exploration, nature workshops, a family picnic or for a summer concert or play – it’s a wonderful place for children. The hotel team can arrange experiences, but this address is perfect for exploration on foot, MRT or taxi (they are reasonably priced). Singapore is a breeze to travel around, which is another big bonus when you’re with the gang.

Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa
Best for: beach resort vibes
The Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa couldn’t be more family-friendly if it tried. Sentosa is a brilliant base for outdoor sporting activities and Resorts World Sentosa. The Shangri-La on Orchard is a popular hotel, but with Rasa’s child-friendly, beachy location, it’s the standout choice when travelling with children. Yes, there’s a swimming pool with three water slides. Yes, there’s Nestopia on Siloso Beach, a mighty obstacle course. And, yes, there’s The Palawan, HyperDrive, a gamified electric go-karting circuit. It’s all good. Try the international buffet at Silver Shell Cafe, but we loved the thin-crust pizzas on the beach at Trapizza, the hotel’s Italian joint – the beach bar has a solid kids menu. When you arrive here, it has tropical beach resort style nailed, making it easy to completely recharge and rest assured that the kids will not be bored.
