Our Chef’s World Series returns on Wednesday 9 July 2025 to mark the 30th anniversary of Chiva-Som’s flagship resort in Hua Hin, Thailand, as well as the third birthday of its sister property, Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som. Readers are invited to join the double festivities with a tasting menu of signature dishes and global wine pairings crafted by both resorts’ executive chefs. The event will be hosted in partnership with Qatar Airways at Wild by Tart, a neighbourhood brasserie in Belgravia, London.
For three decades, Chiva-Som has set a benchmark for destination spas. Retreat programmes are devised by expert, in-house practitioners at the resort on Thailand's Gulf Coast, ranging from gentle discovery to targeted recovery. Each retreat is tailored to the individual guest, and all are experienced while soaking up the tranquil setting of powdery beaches and tropical gardens.
In 2022, Chiva-Som launched Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som with the mission of bringing its holistic wellness philosophy to Qatar. Employing traditional methods of traditional Arabic and Islamic medicine, the internationally acclaimed resort offers two immersive wellness journeys. Zulal Serenity is the adults-only experience, providing consultations and treatments within soothing, secluded spaces, while Zulal Discovery is the pioneering, family-friendly option, encouraging healthy lifestyle exploration surrounded by loved ones of all ages.
With eight restaurants spread across both resorts, guests choose from a variety of wellbeing-focused cuisines rooted in local flavours. Chiva-Som’s goal of balancing body, mind and spirit lies at the heart of each menu, and this July, Condé Nast Traveller invites you to sample some of their signature recipes in London. Attendees of the anniversary event will be greeted by light canapés and a Champagne reception, as well as refreshing mocktail alternatives, before indulging in a delicious tasting dinner of Thai and Middle Eastern cuisines. Cooked by chefs from Chiva-Som Hua Hin and Zulal Wellness Resort, the menu is designed to showcase the best of their nutritious dishes, and will be paired with a curated wine selection too.
The evening will be hosted at Wild by Tart, a vibrant, multi-purpose eatery housed in a former power station and coal store. Chosen to embody Chiva-Som’s aesthetic and ethos, the Belgravia restaurant is bright, airy, and filled with leafy vines hanging from lofty, glass-panelled ceilings. Ingredients here are seasonal and sustainably sourced where possible, and dishes are served from the open kitchen.
